Self-confidence is something that we often develop in childhood, and it continues to grow healthily as we age. However, some of us don't have the correct amount of self-confidence because of a glitch during earlier years or a traumatic experience that caused us to believe we aren't good enough. These are some steps you can take if you still struggle with low self-confidence:

Start Speaking "I Am" Statements

One of the most substantial things you can do to build self-confidence is to start trying to undo the negative images of yourself that have been implanted into your mind. You can begin this strategy at any time by looking in the mirror and telling yourself that you are something opposite of those negative beliefs. If you think you aren't smart, you can say to yourself, "I am highly intelligent." Do that for every negative comment or accusation you've absorbed over the years.

Change Your Circle of Friends

Another vital step to take is to ensure that you surround yourself with caring, loving, and supportive people. Being around people who look down on you and fail to support you will keep you in a low place. On the contrary, being around warm and supportive people will lift your spirits and help you to have a more positive outlook. Try to go out with your new circle of friends and do activities you truly enjoy. The more time you spend enjoying yourself with these people, the less time you'll spend feeling bad about yourself.

Read Helpful and Supportive Text

Books are always an excellent resource when you're trying to build your confidence. Authors such as Gary Hensel have been through the same thing you're going through now. They can provide insight into how they recovered from low self-esteem and self-worth and brought themselves to a higher sense of consciousness. You can sift through the various texts by the many notable authors who have published esteem-building texts. You'll land on something that's just right for what you need to do.

Involve Yourself in Spiritual Activities

Spiritual activities can also help you feel more confident about yourself, your worth, and your talents. You may want to purchase religious texts and consider the idea of a higher power who may hold you with much more value than everyone you've ever known, including yourself. Meditation is another alternative. Meditation can help you to put yourself in a happy and joyful place for a few minutes out of your day. You can begin with just five short minutes of closing your eyes and imagining yourself with the wonderful life you want to manifest.

Start Building a More Confident Self Today

Now you know a couple ways to get yourself out of a low self-confidence rut. It won't last forever, but you have to make strong efforts to change it for yourself. Try all or one of the tips mentioned above. If they don't work for you, you can try some alternative methods. If they work for you, you can combine them with other methods and create a super-fortified recovery and growth plan.
